Bye Bye Bassinet, Hello Crib

My baby is growing oh so fast! We had to retire the bassinet because he is so tall and whenever he would cry he would kick too which inevitably led to his head being tweeaed at the top of the bassinet. I wanted William to stay in our room as long as possible and finally at 8 weeeks William has graduated to his big baby bed! We also had to buy a lamp for his room since he does not like complete darkness like I do. Needless to say I checked on him several times just to make sure he was breathing and just all around okay. I really wanted to take pictures of William sleeping so peacefully in his crib but the camera always seems to wake him up. So here he is this morning.

He did so well and I am so proud of him! Unfortunately it is not a magical sleep through the night machine because he woke up at 3 a.m. and then 7 a.m. but that is pretty normal. We've had a lot of firsts today. First time sleeping in the crib and also first time sitting in the bumbo. William wasn't sure if he liked it at first but he has warmed up to sitting in the bumbo. I am sure, just like the bouncer, the more he is in it the more he will enjoy it. He has relaxed his arms a bit more now althoug at first, like in this picture, his arms looked a little funny.

Look how hard he is trying to click his tongue. I just love his guts!!

Jazz Fan

Sunday Kaden asked me, "Can I put the Jazz outfit on William?!?" He was so excited about it so of course I said yes! I wish I could have had a camera in my hand after Kaden put the outfit on William. He stepped away from the play pen, bent down and with the biggest smile on his face said, "He looks so cute!!" I will never forget that moment. I wonder what he will say when William gets his first real golf club set and takes them to the range.

William started holding toys and shaking them. Yesterday I finally got a good video of it.

Toys, Laughs, and Scratches

Lately William has taken to playing with toys. He has liked hearing their sounds for a while but last week he actually started looking at them and hitting them in his car seat so he could hear the sounds. He also doesn't mind his bouncer as much anymore. As long as it is bouncing (I put my foot on it to help it to bounce, or he tries to do it himself) he loves it. We didn't used to put the toys on the bouncer because he didn't like them and wasn't really interested in looking at them. Now he just sits there and stares at the monkey, lion, hippo, and elephant. It is amazing how in just one week he can go from not showing much interest in toys to absolutely loving them. Today I was shaking one of his toys and spinning the spinner on it and William started to laugh. It was the first time I have ever heard him laugh and I can't wait for him to begin laughing more consistantly. Here he is hitting the toy in his carseat yesterday.

I usually keep mittens on William's hands because he likes to touch his face and especially his eyes. I decided yesterday that I need to take them off so that he can learn to grab his toys and eventually pick them up and shake them himself. Although he has already scratched three places on his face I think I'll leave them off. He needs to learn that it hurts when you scratch your face. Poor guy will probably have little scabs on his cute face for a while.
William started rolling from belly to back last Monday! No more laying him on the couch all by himself. Pretty soon he'll start rolling from back to belly!! Oh gosh!

Yesterday was Kaden's birthday but unfortunately William and I spend maybe two hours with him. Kaden went to Vegas for our niece Zoe's blessing. We missed him very much while he was gone. I don't like being without him, especially since Sundays are the only full days I get to spend with him since I've gone back to work.

I am finally back to my prepregnancy weight!! Yay! Not that I have done much to get there. I must admit it is very hard to get anything done with William around. He likes to be held, entertained, bum changed, or fed. I love doing all of these things but I have hardly any time for myself really. I'm lucky to get ready for work let alone work out. Oh the joys of motherhood. I don't know how people with several kids get anything done at all!!
