William and I have been playing a lot this last month. Here are some of our adventures:
He enjoyed climbing into the laundry basket after I folded the laundry.
When Kaden's parents get home from work William often goes outside with grandpa. Too bad it always ends quickly when he decides to eat dirt. What a boy!
I can't forget to mention that William sometimes likes to streak. I caught him taking off his pants, good thing jeans are much harder for him to get off.
While I was training for my job William enjoyed playing in his room by himself and watching 101 Dalmatians (aka doggies). William has also been spending a lot of time playing some learning activities I made him.
I found some wooden painted animals and such as Joann's. I traced them onto fun paper and then glued the paper to some white paper that has a border. Then I hard laminated them (only because William likes to chew on or bend everything). I am thinking about getting more of these little guys because they've become a hit with William. I bet he'd enjoy the cars for sure.William will get these out by himself and match the shapes. He does an excellent job matching the wooden piece to its shape. I've been asking him to point to this and that, he only has difficulty recognizing the sun, ladybug, and butterfly but that's okay.I also made 10 file folder games a while ago and was just waiting to laminate the folders and put the Velcro on. Again, William does an excellent job matching the shapes and colors. Soon we'll be practicing identifying which is a circle, square, rectangle, etc. We'll also be identifying colors. I am so excited that he is learning so much
William doesn't normally like to color. In fact he mostly likes to eat the crayon/marker/colored pencil. Last week he got out his markers and wanted me to open them. I decided it was time to try coloring again. I think he lasted longer than usual and only stuck the marker in his mouth once!
This weekend William and I are headed to Utah for a quick trip. My brother, Seth, will be married in 2.5 weeks and this weekend is his fiance Kylie's bridal shower. They don't read my blog so I decided to post what I made them. I hope they like it!
Kaden has been busy with school and work. He had trouble signing up for his math class (it's the last class needed to get his associates degree) but after emailing the professor and going to the registrar's office he finally was able to sign up. However, that was a week after the semester began so he rushed to catch up. He worked his butt off and spent all his free time to catch up which I know was really difficult because he detests math. Today he applies for graduation!! Soon we'll be done with Dixie and heading to UNLV!
That was the good news but now for the great news. I got a call last week telling me which days I would be subbing which was such a relief because the well is running dry. Then Friday I got a call from my principal telling me she had an even better offer. I am officially a virtual teacher!! I'll be teaching 7th and 8th graders which will be very different for me but I'm up for the challenge. I just know the Lord heard my prayers and answered them! I am truly thankful!! Now I am a little nervous to begin tomorrow. Wish me luck.
